Çal Cave is a cave located in the Düzköy district of Trabzon. The construction of the cave was completed in 2000 and opened to tourism in 2003. According to some sources, the cave is 1116 meters high, and according to others, it is 1050 meters high. There is a stream running through the cave, located under a fortress, reaching a depth of 1.5 meters according to some sources, and 50 centimeters according to others during rainy periods. The depth of this stream drops to 25 centimeters during the summer months. The cave located 11 kilometers from the Düzköy district, splits into two branches, one 400 meters, and the other 150 meters, after 200 meters from the entrance. At the 60th meter of the longer branch, there is a small lake and waterfall. At the end of the smaller branch, there is a chimney from which water from the valley flows. Both branches of the cave, which are covered with wooden walkways, have an accessible area of 8 kilometers.

The cave, which was formed in two stages, is thought to have formed over a period of approximately 8 million years. The first stage of the cave’s formation occurred when the water seeping from the surface dissolved the limestone. The cracks in the dissolved limestone have expanded and an underground water channel has been formed. After the first stage, the water flow that formed the cave stopped with the regional rise and the cave took its final form. During the period of regional rise, stalactites and stalagmites began to form in the sinkholes where water used to seep.
